This I find beautiful:
“That which is caused is never eternal, what which is caused is temporal. When the cause disappears, it will disappear; it is a by-product. That which is uncaused is going to be forever and forever, because there is nothing that can destory it … Everyday you are dying, one day you wil simply disappear into the grave.
But is that all that you have? Is that all that your being is? There is somethign in you that was there before you were ever born and that is going to be there even after you are gone, forever. After you have died, that which was before your birth will remain – it was uncaused.
That’s why Taoist don’t believe taht God created the world, that God created man, that God created souls. If God had created souls, then they were caused and one day they would disappear – howsoever far away that day might be is not material. … Taoists talk about that which is eternal, uncaused, uncreated – they don’t have a creator. …
Taoists have no concept of God … thy dont have a concept of God. Existence is enough. There is no creator, there is no creation, there is eternity.”
These are words on the ideas of Taoism (by Osho, through explanations of 5 Taoist parables). This is so beautiful. More i read about Taoism the more i find it more in congruence with how i feel. This idea of causality is so beautiful. It is so counter to the driving principles of science.
Hmm…I wonder if this can be used as a positive point for a steady-state model of the universe…
